Allen Arms Training Level III Advanced Personal Defense |
This class is taught by Mike Sexton
- Purpose of Course- Developed by retired Marine and Master IDPA shooter Mike Sexton, this course is designed to prepare experienced shooters to handle real- world threats at very close range. Far from conventional the 'square range' training mentality, in which a row of participants stands and performs on command, this training is 360 degrees, in which advanced participants, with prior marksmanship and basic defensive shooting experience, work one-on-one with instructors and other participants to learn close range defense techniques. These techniques involve using whatever equipment is available in an emergency, from firearms to bare hands.Techniques covered will include advanced use of handguns, as well as defense against AND use of edged and blunt weapons, stressing retention and disarming, as well as improvised weapons. The tactics used are cutting edge and may surprise you in their unconventional nature and effectiveness. The training received in this class will make the participant aware of the appropriate effective methods of surviving a close range deadly threat.
