Allen Arms Training Application of the Tactical Carbine

  • Purpose of Course- Developed by Master Shooter Mike Sexton, this course is designed to prepare interested shooters for one of the hottest new areas of competition-Tactical Rifle/ Competition Rifle, and it has definite applications to real world situations. We will cover the basics of safe and effective handling, reloading, and application of the carbine in close quarter situations. Areas of specific interest include assessing and responding to situations, use of cover and concealment, shooting while moving, as well as other skills and techniques used in competition and in real life. Upon completion of this course, the student will have gained confidence, experience, and an increase in their skill level and effectiveness with Tactical Rifles.

  • Age Requirements- 18 minimum.

  • Prerequisites- Basic working knowledge of the firearm. Read range rules on web site.

  • Time- 5 hours.

  • Equipment Needed- A magazine-fed carbine in to 5.56/ 7.62, or pistol calibers, at least 200 rounds of ammunition, minimum of two spare magazines (30 round recommended) means of carrying those on your person. Use of any sighting equipment is allowed, except lasers. Ammunition used may not be steel core (no Wolf), armor piercing, tracer, or incendiary. Bring a sling if you have one, please. You wil also need standard eye and ear protection, OBIs, and driver's license. Any equipment needed can be provided by the range at no cost, except ammunition.

  • Activities Involved- 3 Hour class session, followed by extensive shooting session, in both group and individual exercises.

  • Maximum enrollment- 10.

  • Other- Attendees will receive certificates for two free range sessions (twenty dollar value).

  • Cost- $125
